What works
Speakaroo works with VoiceOver, Larger Text, Dark Mode, Increase Contrast, Reduce Motion and Differentiate Without Color. Roo's words are always shown on screen as Roo speaks.
Sessions with VoiceOver
With VoiceOver on, a session uses talk mode: tap Speak (or double-tap with two fingers) to start your turn, and tap again when you are done, so VoiceOver's speech never reaches Roo.
Typing instead of speaking
In a session you can type an answer instead of saying it (Type); Roo still replies by voice, with its words on screen.
Voice Control
Every button has a name you can say with Voice Control. During a conversation the microphone is listening for Roo, so end a session with a tap.
Audio descriptions
The app has no video, so audio descriptions do not apply.
